Surviving the Apocalypse 101 – The Event – Part 7

A realistic discussion of the realities of surviving an apocalyptic event.

We are assuming the “Event” to be a massive solar flare EMP that wipes out the world electric grid.

What would you do for a Klondike bar? Better yet, what would you do to provide for your family? Good people gone bad. Sounds like a poor excuse for a reality show but it’s the truth. It’s been estimated that less than 1% of Americans are “preppers”, people that are prepared to survive an apocalypse. Let’s take a look at what it means to be a Prepper. Capt. William E. Simpson wrote a very good article concerning the definition of a “Prepper”. In that article he says “Anyone who has observed recent history and the re-occurring disasters (both natural and made-caused) that have resulted in massive casualties and/or loss of life, and in consideration of lessons learned or stemming from such events coupled with the odds of the re-occurrence of any such events, takes appropriate and measured steps to deal-with and/or survive any such events which may occur in their environment.”

And this is why I believe that, in the event of an apocalypse of some kind, there will be a lot of problems because of the “unprepared”.
